New Orleans Pride up Tipitina’s way uptownThe origins of Pride events in New Orleans are quite humble compared to the extravagant celebrations of love and visibility seen today throughout the French Quarter. In 1970, the Gay Liberation Front of New Orleans was formed and in 1971, members of the Front presented a "Gay In" picnic in City Park.
